The Grave Allegations The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of sexual offences – including acts against children younger than 13 – between 2017 and 2021. One deputy chief prosecutor stated, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a thorough and intricate police inquiry, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.” Scope of the Investigation The charges follow what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported sexual offences at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital. Spencer is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th. List of Charges The charging documents said the forty-five sexual offences comprise: Fifteen counts of assault. 17 counts of penetrative assault. Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen. Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen. 1 count of attempted penetrative assault. Police are urging individuals with information to get in touch with the relevant police force.
