The Austrian squad has confirmed significant changes for the 2026 Formula 1 season, promoting Frenchman Isack Hadjar to its senior team and giving British teenager Arvid Lindblad his debut Formula 1 seat. The young driver, who comes from a mixed Swedish-Indian background, is set to become the partner of Kiwi driver Liam Lawson at the sister squad VCARB. These changes means Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda being without a drive after five seasons. The New British Hope Arvid Lindblad drove FP1 for the British and Mexico City Grands Prix this year. The youngster was identified as a prodigy by Red Bull from the age of 12 years old. Discussing the team's young driver programme, a key advisor noted last year that Lindblad "seems extremely gifted", highlighting his "natural quickness". Red Bull has been working since last year to ready Lindblad for his likely F1 debut in 2026, including runs in F1 practice sessions at Silverstone and Mexico City. The rookie said it was a "huge honour", commenting: "2026 will be a big challenge, and I know there's a lot to learn, but I'm ready to collaborate with the team and meet the challenge. I am incredibly excited to get started." Lindblad has taken two races in F2 this year and is sixth in the standings ahead of the season finale in Abu Dhabi. The Frenchman's Chance Isack Hadjar enjoys his first podium in F1, secured at the Dutch Grand Prix this season. The Frenchman's debut season began in difficult fashion when he spun out on the formation lap of the season-opening Australian Grand Prix. However, from that point, he has emerged as one of the most impressive rookies this season. He featured an excellent podium finish at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he lies 10th in the championship. A senior team figure commented: "Hadjar has displayed impressive growth and proved to be a fast adapter. Crucially, he has the innate pace that is the primary necessity in this sport. We believe he can excel next to Max." The promoted driver called it "an awesome move" and said he felt "up for the challenge". The Lawson Decision For the seat at the junior team, Red Bull have preferred Lawson over Tsunoda. Lawson started 2025 with the senior squad but was demoted early in the year. However, he has settled back in at the junior outfit with some strong performances, persuading Red Bull he merits more time. The Japanese driver, meanwhile, has been ejected after a difficult season. His best result is a P6, and he has scored a small fraction of the team's constructors' championship. These announcements mean that there is also no place on the Red Bull programme for Ireland's Alex Dunne, who will remain in F2 next season.
