The three finalists have been celebrated for their remarkable achievements over the past 12 months. Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the very first time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a historic innings. Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his sensational debut year. The three contenders were announced live on a widely-listened-to radio show. The 2025 recipient will be revealed live on the Sports Personality of the Year show on December 18th. The show will be broadcast from seven in the evening GMT. Michelle Agyemang Age: 19 Sport: Football A mere three months after her international debut, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to winning the Euros. She was introduced as a substitute to score key tying goals in both the knockout stage games. Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament. Afterwards, she was awarded the prestigious Golden Girl honour for the top young European talent. She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women. Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October. "Being on the shortlist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is incredible," said Agyemang. Luke Littler Age: 18 Sport: Darts Littler kicked off the year in sensational style as - at just 17 years old - he became the most youthful world title winner in history. He secured a commanding win over Michael van Gerwen in the final. His later win at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth competitor to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown. He didn't stop there - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the first time. At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, breaking the previous record. "Being nominated for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a proud moment for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts." The Cricket Sensation Age: 19 Sport: Cricket Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and rose to fame with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August. Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s. It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international. Perrin finished second in the season's run tally and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.
