Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Live coverage features live text of the weekend matchups via multiple platforms, beginning with Denver Broncos v New York Jets at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Also, audio coverage is available on designated networks covering a separate game (from 21:00 BST).

We're in the sixth week in the football calendar , after recent talk about the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles being a potential Super Bowl match-up, each surrendered their perfect starts.

Notable in those games was the number of penalties both committed. The Eagles did so at crucial times so they kind of defeated themselves after leading 17-3 going into the fourth period versus Denver, set to play overseas this Sunday.

But it proved good to observe how Denver's QB the rookie was able to overcome the shortfall before direct three scoring drives on three possessions in the fourth quarter, to win the victory 21-17.

Denver boast the defensive player of the year in cornerback their star corner. They rank number one in goal-line defense, while the Eagles lead the league in red zone offence, and the Broncos prevailed in that contest.

They executed the Eagles' number regarding simulated pressure. They weren't necessarily sending extra defenders instead they could position two linebackers in the 'A' gap then drop them out and dispatch a slot defender off the edge.

At the start of the season, it was noted on a program that the Broncos could be this season's dark horses. They ended last season well and did a good job in continuing that momentum.

Are the Denver Broncos this season's dark horses?

Recently acquired TE Evan Engram has excelled big and new RB JK Dobbins is a player they believe in. He's currently fifth in the NFL for rushing yards (402) as well as tied-fourth in rushing scores (four).

I love how head coach Sean Payton has "RUN IT!" at the top on his call sheet.

That shows how the Broncos are a team that wants to prioritize the run, because one can achieve much based on that approach. It reduces opposing rushes while keeps you in favourable down and distances.

It's also helped quarterback Bo Nix, who entered into the league as the 12th overall draft pick last year, passing for 29 TDs – just behind a star QB in rookie records (31 back in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert possess the arm strength to pass anywhere, but they lack in the same way that Nix has. He has exceptional passing ability, a unique trait, and he's highly agile.

His assets include his movement, the capacity to pass on the run, and using different arm angles to deliver the pass as he moves out of the pocket, on rollouts. He can throw precision throws over the middle and past defenders.

For a young quarterback, aged 25, he's got a lot of poise under pressure and is not bothered by extra rushers. He aims to avoid being tackled whenever possible and is able throw in tight spots. He possesses sharp intelligence and is quick to decide.

When you consistently run the ball it eats up the clock and forces the opponent to be in play extended periods, and when you've got an athletic quarterback the defence must cover the field vertically side to side. This proves exhausting.

Nix has bitten back with the coach on the sideline at times and I think Payton likes that attitude, that he's a fierce rival. I think it's exciting for him to coach a rookie QB that is kind of like play-dough. The coach can really develop him the way he wants to shape him. I think it's a special experience for the coach.

Payton owns a championship and now passed Bill Parcells for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He's seen everything. I think the success Denver are experiencing on offence is mostly due to his leadership, his play-calling, his game sense – and the combination with the QB aids shape him what he is.

You wouldn't want a more qualified person in your ear, to assist you during some of the tougher situations and build self-belief.

I have faith in Denver's defence, in the QB's grit and calm. But is the team good enough to face a top squad at full strength? Because that wasn't championship-level play by the Eagles in their last game.

Right now, it's unlikely the Broncos are elite. They're performing better than most, that's a good place to hold their division. The key is to continue this path.

They're really good at leaning into their strength, that is running the ball, and this is exactly what they must do versus the Jets in London. It's going to be the JK Dobbins show, in essence.

New York have surrendered 140 rushing yards each contest (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns this season (10th worst), and they're the only team yet to win any game.

Ever since the NFL began tracking turnovers in 1933, the Jets are the first team to go without any turnovers in five outings, which is kind of shocking when you think that their new coach Aaron Glenn defensive co-ordinator with another team.

Patrick Mahomes says Kansas City have 'already lost too many games' after Monday's defeat by the Jaguars.

After the upcoming matchup, Denver face a manageable slate up to their bye (in week 12) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans plus Las Vegas Raiders prior to the Chiefs.

Looking at the AFC West, Kansas City hold a losing record while Denver are tied with the Los Angeles Chargers on 3-2 so they could challenge at leading the division.

It depends upon what version Kansas City shows up they face because the Broncos {beat|def
